Pastoral  Care / Counseling
David W. Grubbs   Ph.D.

At the age of 15, David encountered Jesus of Nazareth while watching the movie Ben Hur. Since then he has spent his life learning and teaching the Word of God.  His undergraduate work was done at Freed Hardeman College and Atlanta Christian College.  He also received a Masters of Ministry and a Masters of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary and a doctorate from International Seminary.

In addition to his formal studies, Dr. Grubbs has focused on two passions: his passion for seeing God's people obtain victory and freedom through living a Christ centered life and living that life from a biblical worldview.

The ministry of Dr. David Grubbs, fondly called Pastor David for almost 50 years, is characterized by pouring God's grace and mercy over those under his care.  It is fitting that this last chapter of ministry would consist of one on one counseling, discipling and training God's people to appropriate the abundant life given to all who have accepted Christ as their Savior.

Statement of Faith

We believe:

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God; the infallible rule of faith and conduct. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

  • The one true God has revealed Himself as a Trinity identified as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19)

  • Man was created good but fell into sin which separated him from God. (Ro. 5:12-21)

  • Salvation comes from acceptance of the atoning work of Christ by grace through faith. (Eph 2:8-9)

  • Two ordinances observed by followers of Christ are communion and baptism in water. (Mt 26:26-29; 28:18-20)

  • Believers are sealed, indwelled and experience empowerment by the Holy Spirit. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-5; 2:38-39)

  • All believers experience sanctification for usefulness and growth in holiness. (1 Corinthians 6:11).

  • Every Christian is part of the universal church which is manifested in the local church. (Acts 2:46-47).

  • The church is a priesthood of believers led locally by an accountable pastor. (Ephesians 4:11; 1 Pet 2:5; 5:1)

  • The return of Christ is imminent. (1 Thess. 4:16-19)

  • The eternal destiny of every human being is heaven or hell. (Mt 25:46)
