Grace-Full Living ~ The Throne of Grace

"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Hebrews 4:16

Let's face it! Sometimes life is just too hard to go around singing, “ I have the joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart.” Sometimes fear and uncertainty fall on us like a heavy weight and we can hardly breathe. The year 2011 brought that kind of fear into my life my fresh new calendar was supposed to be filled with happy events, kids programs to attend, weddings, dance recital’s, but in a moment life took drastic change. The calendar filled with doctors appointments, radiation and chemo therapy treatments, surgeries and long hospital stay is in fear. It was definitely a time of need.

I spent a lot of 2011 running to that throne of grace, drawing encouragement from the king of kings, who just happened to be my Father, confident that He would be waiting with open arms. And He was. We made it through the cancer, but it changed your lives forever. God chose not to take my beloved husband, but to give us more time together, and we are so grateful. But, for a man who has lived his life for Jesus, he could, with the apostle Paul, say “for me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Death for the believer is victory, not defeat, so there can be only happy endings to life’s story.

In 2011 I just had to change the verse of my little song to the expanded and somewhat wordy verse, “I have the wonderful love of my blessed Redeemer way down in the depths of my heart.” It was that wonderful love that carried me through.

When your joys turn to fear and uncertainty, don’t forget that one of the many blessings of Grace-full living is running to the throne of grace with confidence to receive mercy and find grace to help you in your time of need.
